LEAVE A LASTING LEGACY

Remembering ELM in your estate planning. It is an easy way to make a lasting contribution that will help ensure our sustainability.  You may wish to consider a gift to ELM through a bequest in your will or trust, retirement assets, life insurance policy, or Donor Advised Fund.

As a member of our Legacy Circle you get VIP invitations to ELM’s signature events and performances, and exclusive insider access.

A gift in your will or trust – a legacy of giving

Making a gift to ELM in your will or living trust is easy to arrange and costs nothing to make now. Your gift is revocable and remains under your control during life. You can leave specific property (like real estate and securities), a dollar amount or a percentage of your estate to ELM.

A gift of retirement plan assets – the perfect gift asset

Distributions from tax-deferred retirement plans, like IRAs, are taxable to owners during life — and to heirs when inherited. When used to make a charitable gift, retirement plan assets are transferred tax-free. By naming ELM as a full or partial beneficiary of your retirement plan, you can reduce or eliminate taxes for your heirs while knowing 100% of your gift to ELM will be used to provide youth with an immersive music education.

A gift of life insurance – a simple way to give a significant gift

Donating a life insurance policy you no longer need can be a powerful strategy to make a larger gift than you might otherwise afford, while receiving immediate tax benefits. If you assign and transfer ownership of a fully paid policy (permanent policy) to ELM during life, you’ll receive a tax deduction for your gift. You can also make a gift of life insurance by designation. Simply request a beneficiary designation form from your life insurance company and name ELM as a full, partial or contingent beneficiary.

A gift from a Donor Advised Fund – an unmatched opportunity to make an impact

In addition to recommending immediate or recurring grants to ELM from your donor advised fund (DAF), you can name ELM as the full or partial beneficiary of your fund — ensuring future support for ELM’s mission to provide youth with an immersive music education.

Planning for the future for you and your community

Other legacy gifts include a charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust and charitable lead trust.
