Volunteer Confidentiality, Expectations and Permissions

As a volunteer for the ELM Reading Buddies Program I agree to: - Respect the confidential nature of any verbal and/or written communication I receive regarding students, families, staff, and the organization. - Immediately report directly to ELM staff if any information disclosed to me reveals a child’s safety is at risk. - Respect that relationships developed with children in my tutoring work MUST remain within the confines of these sessions for the protection of the student, staff and volunteer. I will not take or share photographs of students on social media. I will not contact students unless it is part of the tutoring assignment. - Not harass or discriminate against any student, staff member, or volunteer on the basis or race, color, religion, sex, gender, age, nationality or ethnic origin, political beliefs, legal status, marital status, disability status, sexual orientation, or social and family background. - Notify ELM regarding my planned absences or tardiness. - Ensure all tutoring activities take place ONLY in the assigned manner. I have read and understand the duties for my position as an ELM Reading Buddies volunteer. Should I have any questions, I will contact Megan Frei or Sara Duran. I understand that I may be released from the program at any time for not complying with any of the above expectations.
